project inspector
« on: November 24, 2016, 08:57:41 am »
Is there a way to put the project inspector permanently on screen, just in Delphi. It's a lot easier when all files are showed to select.
Lazarus 2.06 (64b) / FPC 3.0.4 / Windows 10
stucked on Delphi 10.3.1

I think you must save the desktop with the open project inspector

If you make it visible it stays there, doesn't it?
Even when closing and opening projects and restarting Lazarus.
(I didn't need to save it as desktop-config, it just stayed there.)

You can also use the anchordocking with sparta_dockedformeditor to create a more modern Delphi IDE.
In that you can also make the Project manager visible permanently.

Check out https://github.com/FlKo/LazarusDockedDesktops is you want the ready made config-files for that.

Edit: Ah... but I have Auto save active desktop on :)

I did not use sparta for a year or so. Today I reinstalled to check out the latest changes, however it's not working(FPC 3.0.0/Lazarus trunk). The form keeps bouncing between docked/undocked state. If I drop a component is not visible. I' m I missing something?

PS: Just to be sure I tested with a clean install, I even deleted the config file.

For me it does not bounce but it has other serious issues, like:
 http://bugs.freepascal.org/view.php?id=29615
 http://bugs.freepascal.org/view.php?id=30698
Fixing them requires major design changes. Please ask Maciej for details. You can do it also in Lazarus developers mailing list, he is there as well. Comments and questions there feel more "official" than in forum.
Mostly Lazarus trunk and FPC 3.2 on Manjaro Linux 64-bit.
