How do you check if the LTCPcomponent is ALIVE or ACTIVE?

Apparently, connected property of LTCPcomponent doesn't reflect the socket current status. So, how do you check if the LTCPComponent socket is ACTIVE or ALIVE other than checking on its connected property?
