Trojan records logo and delphi - related ?
« on: November 05, 2016, 10:14:46 pm »
How are they related ?

I see this logo almost each time I try to listen to typical rock-steady music that UK skins were listening in the 80's.

It's legit for the music label but for delphi ? just because delphi is more or less related to mythology ?

In the case of Delphi only the exact designs of their helmet are copyrightable.
And Delphi and Oracle are just trademarks for software. The names derive indeed from ancient greek history.
Therefor the use of a different helmet design is perfectly legal for music. And a record label can be called Trojan.
It is all prior art ;) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galea_(helmet))

You're right, now I also remember another law on brands. You can use a brand name that already exists if the commercial activity is in another domain that the other brand(s) already using the name. For example I could create "Delphi nugets" brand without being worried because i would sell nugets and not software...

Makes me want to make some inappropriate "why is Delphi like a condom" jokes.

noice.

Code: Pascal  [Select][+][-]
  1. type
  2.   Trojan = record
  3. ..

Of course it is allowed.
Specialize a type, not a var.

Loads of'm.
Often using KOL. More than once just the use of KOL's reduced system units was enough to trigger false positives.
Some of their writers "education" came from here:  http://www.delphibasics.info/home/delphibasicssnippets/archive
Still interesting for low-level Pascal lovers.
- hiding applications from processmanager
- dll injection
- communications: 4k multithreaded webserver etc etc
- all types of hooking available to mankind.
- using slack or raw disk space
- Attach to a running process

Most of what you need is still there...
Real fun.

Of course the world has moved on and user space trojans are not really recommended to write unless you want to go to rest your feet for a couple of years.
Note all those snippets on their own are perfectly legal, just knotting them together in any meaningful way isn't :)
