No mouse in Konsole
« on: November 05, 2016, 11:45:20 am »
I'm using fp 3.0 in linux-32 with a kde based distro. The mouse works ok in xterm but not in the default konsole. Anyone know how to configure konsole so that the mouse works with the ide? I appreciate that this may not be an fp related issue because I can't see why the mouse should work in Xterm but not konsole, but just thought I'd ask. Thanks.

I have seen that konsole issue too. That's because konsole bypasses xterm. It should not do that. FP relies on X, not even on GTK+
I suggest you configure FP to start in xterm.
Specialize a type, not a var.

Thaddy, I tried starting konsole with

Code: Pascal  [Select][+][-]
  1. konsole -tn xterm

I can now use the mouse to select menus and move around the window, but I can't select text. Weird.

I would prefer to use konsole because it has more features than plain xterm, but it's a pain having to use the keyboard to select text, so I guess I can learn to live with xterm.

It would be great if the ide had vim bindings!  :D
