It takes time to learn all my dear padawan  :D
Now that is a term I was not familiar with !!     ( I am now! )

Regrettably my knowledge of Star Wars (and Sanskrit) is very sparse, the only SF author I can abide is Issac Asimov, though I will admit that the term 'feels' endearing  ;D  and once upon a time I was an Apprentice (tool-maker rather than Jedi though!).  I wonder when I'll have a chance to use the term? Quite often I find that such knowledge is given to one just in time for an airing. :)

I agree with your comments regarding learning methods entirely and there have been many occasions when I've re-invented the wheel - simply because that way I know exactly what the procedure/function does. As yet I have no desire to write GUI elements so have to resort to using the tools that are available - without necessarily having a complete knowledge of the inner workings.

... and yes I do read every post on the forum (Laz) from which I occasionally glean a little nugget of knowledge.
