Cryptocurrency in pascal 100%
« on: June 01, 2016, 11:35:40 pm »
Hi everybody.
I'm finalizing a project to create a cryptocurrency written 100% in Pascal.

I think it's an interesting project for people who like the cryptocurrency world (like BitCoin) but usually don't develop with C code...

All started some time ago when I wanted to understand how BitCoin works and I discovered something to innovate and improve... but I'm not a good C developer because my preferred language is Pascal, so I wrote a completely new cryptocurrency using pascal code.

Important things about this new cryptocurrency:
- The only thing similar to BitCoin is that will be P2P anb use a Proof-of-Work method to generate a BlockChain... but:
- Will use a more secure EC algorithm (Elliptic Curve)
- Will be able to delete the blockchain and will not need to store all the operations to work  (nowadays BitCoin is more than 23Gb of space, increasing quickly, 5 or 10 o more Gb per year). My proposition is to create a blockchain that can be deleted to use less space.
- ... and much more!

The only part of code not developed in Pascal is because I use the OpenSSL in DLL format (I'm developing in Windows), so I've not rewritten a cryptography code ...

For your interest:
- I've never developed with Lazarus, because I use Delphi... I think it will easily be portable because the important code is not in visual components... but I will need some help if you want when finished.

A question: Do you know if exists a cryptocurrency written in Pascal?  (I'll be happy if I'm the first)

Another question: Would you like to participate in?

Finally Pascal Coin started today!

Pascal Coin is a P2P cryptocurrency written 100% in Pascal without need of historical operations.
(It's named "Pascal Coin" in honor of Pascal language)

Source code of first version of PascalCoin available at GitHub:
https://github.com/PascalCoin/PascalCoin

White Paper of Pascal Coin (the basis of the concept) here:

I know the topic is outdated but I just wondering how can anyone earn money with by pascalcoin?
Another question who is using this crpyto-coins? Or clearly how can anyone use any crypto-coins for something?
What can you do with crypto-coins as a programmer?

I know the topic is outdated but I just wondering how can anyone earn money with by pascalcoin?
same way people earn money via bitcoin, trading, hodling and payment for goods and services.
Another question who is using this crpyto-coins? Or clearly how can anyone use any crypto-coins for something?
a lot of people, payment for goods and services, infact cryptocurrencies has bridged the gap that previously existed for developers in countries where Paypal is not accepted.

What can you do with crypto-coins as a programmer?
a lot, you can write dApps to mention just one.
