ZenGL forum registration
« on: April 18, 2016, 12:50:41 pm »
Firstly, apologies for posting here. I have no other idea of getting anyone to see.

I used a link from this forum for the zen GL forum and tried to register.
They use a verification option but the second one looks like its bugged.
If anyone here is a member, can the get an admin there to sort it ?

I'm looking at the zen and other pascal options for game engines.
I currently have/work on old Delphi pascal files that use scrolling tiled bmp images in a 3D asymmetric format with DirectX.
If any of the known pascal engines currently listed could do a similar job, I'd love some info.

Thanks

Thanks for the reply.
I have already seen this thread and been checking the links etc. and it was where I found the Zen GL link.

Have you tried the other one?

Although I never tried Allegro, but it sounds nice. Here what they said about it:
"... create 3D graphics, define a GUI and almost anything you need to create your own games.  And you can do it in good old Pascal or the modern Object Pascal.  Also, if you do it the right way, your program will run in Windows and Linux with few or not changes!  It may work even in MacOS systems ..."

Also, you should give Castle Game Engine a try. I ever asked question about its usage, and the author is very supportive. And the great is you can export your game to run on Android and IOS devices. Lazarus motto is "Write Once Compile Anywhere", so don't limit yourself to write games only for desktop computers.

I contacted Andrey Kemka (the author of ZenGL and the admin on the forum) last year. He mentioned that he stepped away from GameDev, but wanted to update the forum at the beginning of 2016. Apparently this didn't happen.

I'm using ZenGL, works pretty well for 2d.

Again, thanks for the replies.
My trouble is I keep looking at different options and not progressing any further.

I even sit back down and start messing with D2007 again instead of sticking with Lazarus.
