lazarus on uhd screen

I have a laptop with an uhd screen. The issue is that after install of lazarus the ide is rendered ok, but the toolbar icons are very small. I can use a lower resolution to get this right, but the odd thing is that the application I'm building is using a toolbar too, but that works well, under uhd. The images are scaled ok.  So actually I'm confused. Anybody can shine a light on this?
