Weird behaiviour of designer
« on: February 12, 2016, 09:44:10 am »
If in Object inspector filter type patch of name of some component appears the filtered names. And if then click on component on the form not presented in list - sometime it selection at once reset and need to click again. So, further... If you select component not in filtered list - in Object inspector appears [for ex.] his Events. And if you click on some event of this component - it will at once replaced by event of component, selected in filter(not on Form). Maybe more correct clear filter if user select component not in filtered list? Or select on form with red color? Don't know how to do better but currently behaiviour not intuitive, I think.
Windows 7 SP1 x64, FPC 3.0.0, Lazarus from trunk: http://svn.freepascal.org/svn/lazarus/trunk

CountIdentity, ModeClassName - good property naming
IdentityCount,  ClassNameMode  - bad property naming

There is at least one related bug report:
  http://bugs.freepascal.org/view.php?id=29574
It used to work better at some point. I don't know what happened.
I will look at it sometime. Patches are welcome, too.
Mostly Lazarus trunk and FPC 3.2 on Manjaro Linux 64-bit.

JuhaManninen: The trouble is - I'm in the same situation as GetMem, and by unknown reason my leters are blocked and not comes to MailingList:
http://forum.lazarus.freepascal.org/index.php/topic,31478.msg201907.html#msg201907

Is exists way to workaround this? Even I create "the best patch in the world" how can I'll send it? Can I just create patch and add it to bugtracker with description and recommendation to add it?

You can send patches here: http://bugs.freepascal.org/main_page.php. Mailing list and mantis(bug report) are separate things. So if you have a patch, feel free to report it. What you cannot do, is to participate in discussions, at least not actively.  I'm still hoping this will be fixed one day.

Yes, bug tracker is the way to go. Did you already fix it?
"the best patch in the world" sounds good. Some info:

JuhaManninen: at this time no. Want know opinion another developers - how it'll be better - red rect of component not in filter list or clearing filter when select component not in filter list and then click to his property in Object inspector. Think 2nd - easier.

Btw: today I get last trunk of Lazarus, build it - and every time I do this I see more and more interesting and useful thing. Only speed of building make me some worry. Whatever I do. I lose full 1 day at this problem, install RAMDisk, copy FPC sources and my project at virtual drive, experimenting on tuning options, disable logging, disable even many hint and warning message and... maybe 4 seconds(from 40) I win. And in end of the end, uninstall RAMDisk, and take a rest))).
