Gaussian sums

So I've been wondering if there's a specific way to calculate a specific sum using the "Gaussian sums" formulas, or do I have to just use the same lines of code used when calculating a sum? Cause sometimes there are specific sums like : the sum of even/odd numbers only ; of different fractions (but in a certain pattern,ofc) ; etc, and I do not know (yet) how to use the "default" code used in sums for these specific tasks.


tldr; I'm asking if there are specific lines of code used when calculating "Gaussian sums" (specific sums with a pattern).
