IDE error message when trying to open the config menu

Lazarus 1.4RC3 - qt - 32bit/ Linux Mint 17.1 KDE - 32 bit

Hello,

I'm pretty shure it did work when I installed Lazarus 1.4RC3 from lazarus_1.4RC3-0_i386.deb first time and recompiled it already several times. Now I'm getting this error message attached as image. I already deleted the Lazarus installation and the configuration folder and reinstall Lazarus. The problem is still there. Any idea about which (XML) file the IDE is trying to open?

With best regards - Ulrich

Run lazarus from terminal, you should see some debug output

You should delete (or rename) the local configuration dir ~/.lazarus.
Some of the files may be corrupted for some reason.
Mostly Lazarus trunk and FPC 3.2 on Manjaro Linux 64-bit.

You were right, there must be a corrupted xml file in the hidden

/home/me/.lazarus/

directory. I deleted everything and reinstalled the Lazarus package again. Its working again as expected.

Thanks for your help

It happens again after installing a component package. The corrupted xml file is

/home/me/.config/lazarus/reg.xml

I guess, its a problem with the IBObjects package I installed before. Its writing a lot of stuff into the file. Maybe better to send it directly to the developer.
