Hello! I have just spent an hour navigating through my fpGUI installation, reading documentation and compiling examples. It's great!

I have just one problem: I feel lost among all these folders and files. I was dreaming of deleting all the things that I will never use but it's not so easy. What would you think of a utility that would do that job for the user?

My projects are on Gitlab and on Codeberg.

I'm glad you like fpGUI so far. Unfortunately there is no way for me to make such a tool, because I simply wouldn't know what is relevant or irrelevant to each individual. Some would require the UI Designer, so not. Some would want DocView (help viewer) etc. So I'll rather leave that task up to the developers.

But to be honest. If you are only using fpGUI (not extending or developing it) You simply need to compile the framework and the tools you need. Then you shouldn't need to browse the fpGUI directory again, but simply write your own programs.

In contrast, Lazarus has a lot more directories than fpGUI. :-)

I hope Graeme is still watching this thread. I have a problem with the new version 1.4 of fpGUI (both git cloned and tarball from sourceforge). It's on Linux Mint 17.1 64 Bit and it's the colorwheel which doesn't work. I got a range check error. After clicking OK, the application closes.

On Windows it's even worse. The library does not compile anymore. I downloaded the latest github-release as stated in an older post. All I get is this error:
Quote
fpg_gdi.pas(2559,105) Error: range check error while evaluating constants
fpg_gdi.pas(3056,8) Note: User defined: OLE DND: We are only handling strings at
the moment, this needs to be extended to other types too
fpg_gdi.pas(3267) Fatal: There were 1 errors compiling module, stopping
Fatal: Compilation aborted
Error: C:\FPC\2.6.4\bin\i386-Win32\ppc386.exe returned an error exitcode (normal
if you did not specify a source file to be compiled)

Seems to be broken on Windows. Has anyone had success in compiling it? (I tried both Windows 7 64 Bit and Windows 2000 Pro 32 Bit)
