Update Lazarus and FPC - Ubuntu
« on: April 07, 2015, 11:26:48 am »
I use Lazarus and FPC for several months. I would like to update Lazarus and FPC source to new versions. How can I run automatic updates? Or: Is there some command to start the update?
OS UBUNTU.

Hoping that Ubuntu package maintainer will push the latest .deb to the official repository, a `# apt-get update` should do. Otherwise, get the new .deb(s) yourself from Downloads link on the left.

You should definitely try the new 1.4RC3.
Mostly Lazarus trunk and FPC 3.2 on Manjaro Linux 64-bit.

There is a good chance that Lazarus to be included in ubuntu-make. I have contacted the developer and he is willing but needs a contributor.
Someone who knows packaging should take the job. A lot of us will be eternal grateful!  ::)

If i had time i have  just done it but i do not and that was the reason posting here. It is not a trivial task because the packages exists in Lazarus download page put them are conflicting with the fpc from Ubuntu main repository and i can not solve that with my skils.
