OpenSSL on Linux Mint

I'm working on a program (server) that uses SSL and TIdHTTPServer. The program works fine on WindowsXP, Windows7, Windows8, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2012, OpenSuSE 12.X and OpenSuSE 13.X. However, on Linux Mint it tells me: "could not load ssl library"
libssl-dev is installed, there is only one user (the administrator, with full access)...
What am I doing wrong?
I saw there was an old topic with the same problem an Ubuntu but there was no solution
