serial network

Hello guys , I have to work on a serial network to query the devices . Which version do you recommend to wire the 485 or 232 ? Also What instrument do you recommend for interfacciarmi the serial ?
Win10, Ubuntu and Mac
Lazarus: 2.1.0

Well, only RS485 and RS422 afaik allow multiple nodes so could be called a network. RS232 is point to point and short distance only

Even point to point, in some settings RS422 is better because the differential signal allows longer cables.

A serial card. Be careful though, many standard serial cards don't allow speed above 115k2.
