Lazarus 1.2.6 for Slackware users
« on: October 25, 2014, 12:33:35 pm »
Hi all,

I have modified my scripts to convert FPC & Lazarus binaries to Slackware packages.

If you're interested you can find them to http://yann.merignac.free.fr/fpc-and-lazarus-for-slackware.html

Just a thought (no experience with Slackware at all so excuse me if this makes no sense) but there is a slackware script under Lazarus tools/install/slacktgz, presumably similar with FPC...

Perhaps contributing a patch to that script would be useful to avoid having to convert RPMs?

After a quick glance (but no try), I don't think there is need for a patch. "tools/install/create_lazarus_slacktgz.sh" should be able to build a slackware package from lazarus sources. One can also use lazarus slackbuild from slackbuild.org. For my part, I prefer to use the official binaries. And the conversion should not take much longer than a build.
