Refactoring rename identier issue
« on: October 16, 2014, 01:46:43 am »
first case :
select an identifier right click and from menu select refactoring/ rename identifier
now click cancel the caret moved up to find the identifier declaration place !!!
second case
select an identifier right click and from menu select refactoring/ rename identifier
click rename identifier after the job done the caret is again at  identifier's declaration place !!!

IMHO it should remember the original place and reposition itself there

If you can improve the IDE, it would be better to submit a patch on the bugtracker rather than to air it here which may get some niggle off your chest, but has little or no positive effect on Lazarus development.

IMHO nothing wrong with voicing an idea. Many ideas that were posted here have picked up in the past. True, many more did not....

But still.

I don't know if the current behaviour had any reasons. But some may find it useful.

However, did you notice, that "Rename I." does add a paint in the jump history? So you can just jump back to where you came from. (ctrl-h, or any key you assign, 4th mouse button, if you have)
