I've been spending this afternoon running through several items in Mantis.  My impression is that what is need more than anything is testers, and anyone can do that.  Some of those issues were reported under 0.9.X and have since been resolved - the issues have just been sitting there awaiting feedback...

Yes, I have also gone through old reports recently and it takes a lot of time and effort. And yes, it would be good to have them cleaned.

I'm testing win32 & GTK2 issues.  I don't have my Linux virtualbox with me, so I've swiped all the GTK2 dlls from GIMP, placed them in a single folder which I've added to my %PATH%.  That seems to be working well for GTK2 testing.

That was innovative!
Mostly Lazarus trunk and FPC 3.2 on Manjaro Linux 64-bit.

My 2 cents on this subject
==============================
It is an oxymoron
while inc(users) do begin
 contributors:=contributors ;

isn’t  it?

It can be fixed easy, i wont say a word why is happening,
i will only provide a solution
The solution is CODE!!! SOURCE CODE
Explanation :
use these forums and under the section
Programming add a new one named SOURCE CODE
Under that add categories ex.
Databases
Internet and Networking
Graphics
Etc. etc.
Provide voting on them if is possible but not a mast
There we will post small or big projects as attachments or code snippets , with a description of them and laz version fpc version and os
This simple step will rapidly Dec(Learning Curve)
will Dec( repeating same questions) in forums and will inc(contributors) faster than you think!!!
The cost is nothing isn’t it?

Please do not argue that there is a wiki and and and ……
is just something that will work 1000% and it will produce contributors for [laz dev and fpc  for bugs or features] belive it or not

Not as much as I'd like to take credit for :-)

Started copying the DLL's in the provided list, turns out that list is now out of date - there's more dependencies than there were.  Got bored dealing with each missing DLL error that popped up :-)

If anyone is running GTK2/Linux/Trunk, there's a really easy task that would help close out an item.  :)

http://bugs.freepascal.org/view.php?id=11721

Download the zip file at http://bugs.freepascal.org/file_download.php?file_id=20661&type=bug and run the included project.   Can you let me know (or report direct to Mantis) if you see any jagged edges around the glyph in the TSpeedButton?   This has very probably been fixed, we just need confirmation.

I'm starting to get frustrated here, its already 4 working days from the day I ordered the parts and they still don't have half of them received. I was really looking forward to spend some time in lazarus/lcl this time around oh well I guess If everything else fails I'll get to it after the release. Sorry :'(.

Sounds like Australia :)  I live in WA - Western Australia, known locally as "Wait Awhile"

Good luck with the new system when it finally arrives :)

Hello Mike.Cornflake:

I have downloaded AlphaGTK2Test.zip and the image is OK (compiled with Lazarus 1.2.4 - 64 bits)

Tested with Debian Wheezy 64 bits, and GTK 2 under jwm and also with simple xorg (xinit) without running windows manager :)

Saludos.

Could people please test bug
http://bugs.freepascal.org/view.php?id=25529
(see the last remark: only the lhelp Help/Open file dialog is relevant anymore) on Lazarus 1.2.4? Is the dialog slow for anybody?

Please respond here (if you can or cannot confirm the slow speed) or in the bugtracker item (if you can cofirm the slow speed).

Thank you!

I've posted results on the bug tracker.  The issue reproduces on my system.

Edit: seems Vincent Snijders already went further; please see his remark on the bug report first...

The fact that it runs ok if lhelp is started stand alone is VERY weird.... as internally Laz starts lhelp with TProcess (or whatever)... only difference is that SimpleIPC client to server and server to client connections are set up but those are not/should not be involved in locally selecting/opening files in lhelp?!?

Perhaps some kind of caching at the Windows end could be involved? What happens if you first try lhelp stand alone and then the Laz route (let's ignore the network stuff as that apparenlty has no effect)?
Any other suggestions?

Issue 25261 can be closed.

I'm not sure but it seems TAchart issues get autoassigned to Alexander S. Klenin, but there are a lot of them open and with no activity. So I don't know if they just go unnoticed that way?

Thank you, Laksen, closed it.
As for TAChart issues: I suspect user wp may be monitoring new ones...

Can't test on Win7 64 bits currently, but on win32 (windows XP) with Lazarus 1.2.4, it's impossible to reproduce the bug: both for the local directories and for the lan ones.

Just in case, as it seems that only some people are getting this bug, one possible reason for the difference (i.e. working or not working properly) could eventually be the way the IDE has been compiled: especially the optimization level (-O1 -O2, ...). Recently, I've discovered a bug in the IDE for which the effect is only detected if this level is set to a particular value (i.e. -O2). But that's just an hypothesis of mine...

I've got it reproducing.  I'll recompile with different optimisations as you suggested, but I have also determined that this only occurs if the themed FileOpen dialog is used.  If you're on Windows Classic, or don't have a manifest - no issue.

Nice idea, but I've now confirmed that the issue reproduces regardless of either the optimisation level set at the project level (Clean up and Build each time), or with Lazarus rebuilt with different optimisation levels :-(
