"Test" button problem.
« on: April 19, 2014, 01:37:48 am »
Hi!  :D

Pressing the "Test" button, returns a message box "Invalid test directory. Please check the Test directory under Tools -> Options -> Files -> Directory for building Test projects", with only the "Cancel" button available .

Pressing "Cancel", reveals another box with the warning: "WARNING: library search path does not exists: /opt/gnome/lib".

I'm on Debian Wheezy x64 KDE.
Official DEB installers for Lazarus and FPC from SF.NET.
GTK2 runtime files (and development ones), already installed.

Any hints?  :)
TIA!

Make sure that the directory you have set for "Directory for building Test projects" exists (your OS is case sensitive remember) and also has correct write permission for the compiler to output files there.

THANKS howardpc!!!
I changed the ~tmp directory to something else.

What about the warning message: "WARNING: library search path does not exists: /opt/gnome/lib"?
I don't know the gnome file structure, but here the /opt directory is empty.
I tried also the repository version and returns the same warning.

This means that your setting in the "Libraries (-Fl)" field of the Project Options dialog (Paths page) is incorrect.
As indeed you confirm since /opt has no subdirectories on your system.
Just remove the useless path data in that field and leave it empty (most projects do not need a specific path to be entered here - this is probably a leftover from some earlier package or project you compiled which then became a remembered default in error).

Fl path, seems to be empty.

Since it's just a warning (not an error) message, is it OK to leave it alone?
