DXScene & VGScene
« on: March 23, 2014, 10:39:26 am »
Hi,
While it could be off topic...I must ask somewhere. Mailing list is maybe best place, but question will stay here for longer time visible by more ppl :)
Anyone is willing to sold me license of this components ? (Yes, I'm maybe too late , but never say never ...)

I think they have been sold to Embarcadero.

I guess zejlko doesn't want to buy half of Embarcadero but just one license of VGScene from times before it was sold and redesigned to FireMonkey (which was in 2011).
Lazarus 2.3.0 (rev main-2_3-2863...) FPC 3.3.1 x86_64-linux-qt Chakra, Qt 4.8.7/5.13.2, Plasma 5.17.3
Lazarus 1.8.2 r57369 FPC 3.0.4 i386-win32-win32/win64 Wine 3.21

Try Eye-Candy Controls: https://sourceforge.net/projects/eccontrols/files/

Install CodeTyphon and look for ORCA components.

orca is semi legal VG/DXScene

http://forum.lazarus.freepascal.org/index.php/topic,20871.msg121490.html#msg121490

Thanks for the link, but it smells like illegal component. My question is still valid.

Links above is from KDev DXScene from pirate chines site, not ORCA.

More information of ORCA

Styles used in both libraries are identical in content and in file names. Smells like trouble...
ct2laz - Conversion between Lazarus and CodeTyphon
bithelpers - Bit manipulation for standard types
pasettimino - Siemens S7 PLC lib

Also this post on the codetyphon forum
http://www.pilotlogic.com/sitejoom/index.php/forum/general-discussions/2393-orca-library

where somebody also tried to clarify the license situation looks... interesting:
Quote
In source I can find only
Code: [Select]
ORCA 2D/3D Library
Copyright (C) PilotLogic Software House
www.pilotlogic.com

Package pl_ORCA.pkg
This unit is part of CodeTyphon Studio
So it seems the CodeTyphon guys claimed they wrote that code (or have the copyright assigned by them by the original author, I suppose)... which seems.... unlikely.

Haven't looked at the current version to see whether this has been corrected... and I may be a bit too paranoid here, but to me it also doesn't smell right.

Lazarus trunk+FPC trunk x86, Windows x64 unless otherwise specified

I think they are  part of Embarcadero:
http://cc.embarcadero.com/partners/delphicpp2009/Delphi/ksdev/vgscene/index.html
http://cc.embarcadero.com/partners/delphicpp2009/Delphi/ksdev/dxscene/index.html
/BlueIcaro

I know that. I just want to buy license from somebody who does not need it anymore (maybe changed tools, job etc etc).
