Profgrid
« on: March 21, 2014, 10:02:16 pm »
I purchased a license for Profgrid a number of years ago and now need to port the application it was used for to Lazarus.  Unfortunately, Profgrid seems to have completely disappeared from the Internet and I need the source code so I can use it with Lazarus.  Does anyone have the source code for Profgrid?

Thanks.

nope sorry, but you could try and use the Lazarus stock db grid if it was data bound or the virtual string tree in grid mode for non databound.
The lazarus grid is a lot better than the delphi dbgrid.

If I forget, I always use the latest stable 32bit version of Lazarus and FPC. At the time of this signature that is Laz 3.0RC2 and FPC 3.2.2
OS: Windows 10 64 bit

Really? What is so much better than the Delphi DBGrid?

easier to add sort arrows, has the alternate line color built into the property editor and other features like auto column sizing and a bunch more.
Borcadero has done nothing to improve the delphi dbgrid.

oh and the grid article in the wiki has tons of good examples of how to do things etc.

I've looked at KGrid and it would work.  I'm trying to avoid the 10+ hours it will take me to replace Profgrid with Kgrid in the dozen or so forms in the application.

it is a good chance for a small reconstruction make a single ancestor form with a grid that all the other forms will be based on this will help you change the grids easier in the future.

It might take a bit of work, but you will not regret porting it to Lazarus and FPC :-)

@nhajek

Do you have the source code? Which version did you use? Did you try the Lazarus package converter?

Linux Mint / Windows 10 / Lazarus 3.0.0 / trunk -qt
