Which exactly file formats are supported by FPVectorial?
« on: February 18, 2014, 01:51:28 pm »
I tried to display several file formats with FPVectorial.
I tried to open SVG (inkscape and plain format), WMF, PDF, ODG, DXF. Only DXF seems to work in a degree. What is your experience? Is there a property supported format, which I could use?

Лазар 3,0 32 bit (sometimes 64 bit); FPC3,2,2; rev: Lazarus_3_0 on Win10 64bit.

It is able to show some pictures.
The following formats:

- DXF
- SVG
- ODG
- EPS
- Mathml

On the other hand it has been developed in a long time
but slowly. Small steps.

Its development needs to support.

Probably my question should be „which file format has the best support“, so people would know which one should use.
I tried the DXF too... I got three concentric circles with with different colour, they are displayed as one colour. At least they were still concentrical.
In SVG they kept their colours, but they were not concentric.
I think in the wiki it shall be stated, that fpvectorial is not yet ready for practical needs, what do you think?

Its development needs to support.

There is no doubt about that.

I already use fpvectorial for practical purposes since a long time. Of course it is not ready for all purposes of all people, but it is useful for some.

Patches are welcome, it is not really that hard to fix the kind of things you are showing, but it takes time and each file might use different file format features so even if 100 files work perfectly the next set of 1000 files might have some missing details like you show, and my time is extremely scarce. I basically work alone in fpvectorial, but I work quite regularly, despite my very limited time.
