Delphi junior developer - Interview questions
« on: February 15, 2014, 09:44:20 am »
Hi, I applied for a junior delphi developer position and was asked to come and have an interview.

I would like to know what topics (or questions) should I expect on interview?

I found some on the internet, but I would like to hear from your expirience, any help is appreciated.

Also, I think this can serve to others as well.

Windows 7 64 bit
Lazarus 1.4.1 (w/fixes) FPC 2.6.4 win32

Hello,

In my opinion, OO is a hot topic today.

You should know how to create a class, its properties and methods.

Good luck!!

Most employers understand Delphi as database driven application development platform (instead of generic purpose), so issues regarding database should be concerned.

Also read the job description, and try to guess specific questions. E.g. I applied once for client-server programming so got some questions about Indy.

Some guys want to see code.
So I'd take my latest private project with me (preferrably on a laptop).

In most cases they are interested in seeing, source documentation. Comments, explanation in source.... and the like. they are not interested in details of how your program works but might try to understand just a code-snippet. So code should be clear and well formatted with lots of comments.
