TgifImage port from delphi 2007 to lazarus sucess,but there are some problem?

hello

I had ported d2007 Gifimg.pas to lazarus sucess,only modify some exception,now run ok,
but when i use image compentent display gifframe only black image?
source code see attachment. can someone help me to find problem?

Lazarus people will not want to touch code that is simply ripped from the VCL.
If Anders Melander wants to open source his code, that is another matter, but the VCL is not open source, and is licensed for use only by people who pay Embarcadero for the privilege.

anders melander's tgifimage was open source before codegear bought and included it in to Delphi. Are you sure that this is the delphi included unit and not the open sourced one?

you are right,but infact i only want to know this wrong reason.and study the code.
first you must have D2007 authorize，of course we have. i only change my project to lazarus.
i guess if there is not delphi ,maybe do not Lazarus?

TGifImage was not part of delphi2007 you have the open source version of the component. As for the problem I didn't had time to check it.

See also http://bugs.freepascal.org/view.php?id=25476 for some discussions about TGifImage licensing.

Distributing modified versions is not allowed. So altering tgifimage to suit lazarus and then including is not allowed. At least with the information I currently see before me.
