SIGSEGV error

What causes the SIGSEGV error in a program compiled in Lazarus?  I have a program that works well on one PC (WinXP), but when installed on another PC with the same setup, I get a SIGSEGV error when trying to run the compiled program.  I am running the latest version of Lazarus on Windows XP Pro.

On crashes I usually use gdb to find out what happened.
