Windows or Lazarus issue, wrong "date of creation"?
« on: August 29, 2011, 04:54:11 am »
Good people,

I have just noticed this that tripped me for a while, thinking I had goofed up something.

I put my fresh .exe file in what would be more like a real-user folder.

And I hovered the mouse over it, I saw a  Date Created of: 8/22/2011 when the pc date is 8/28/2011

So, I went and re-created the .exe by pressing the green run arrow, which I'd always been thinking it makes the .exe anew.

I even erased the .exe and compiled/run it again. Same thing.

Then, I examined the .exe by looking at its properties, and there it showed Date Created: 8/22/2011 and Date modified: 8/28/2011

So, somewhere there is a discrepancy and I can't say where.

Additionally, even when I erased the .exe, the same story remains. Created on 8/22/2011

How can THAT be, if even I erased the .exe file?

This is to make people go nuts, and I am vulnerable. :o

So, I hope someone can share some knowhow of what's going on, and how to have a fresh created date every time I re-compile the application.

I think this problem is a Windows feature and not a lazarus/fpc bug :)
OS: Ubuntu 12.04.2 32 bit
Lazarus: 1.0.8
FPC: 2.6.2
